Sharing

1. What will you be eating today? This is a late answer, as I wasn’t blogging on the day. We have turkey, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, mash, carrots and parsnips in honey, sprouts with chestnuts, all covered in gravy. For desert, we had a pecan and maple roulade, with whipped cream. My daughter’s boyfriend cooks. The following day, the same, but at my house and we had cheesecake, apple pie, custard, cream and a lot more for pudding.

2. What was your favourite gift? Having my children, grandchildren, and husband with me. Sharing with them is worth more to me than the gifts themselves.

3. What is the worst bit about celebrating (Christmas or otherwise) Probably recovering from the overindulgence. I have high cholesterol and do need to be careful.

4. Do your pets get to join in with the fun? My old dog Scamp had his own stocking. He loved opening his gifts and got excited when he saw it stuffed with toys and treats. Titan loves his treats, Molly too.

My gratitude is spending time with my family.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Lovely post and I sympathise with the cholesterol. My GP has given me a month to get my act together after the holidays before booking my next blood test! Happy New Year Diana. Thanks for joining in.

      1. I don’t want to take statins (I have enough muscle and joint pain) and Hubby is intolerant to them all so is having a tummy jab twice a year. They keep pushing me about them so I’ve asked if I can have the tummy jab too. I’m taking ezetimibe for cholesterol and it has helped.
