New Year

Written for https://mindlovemiserysmenagerie.wordpress.com/2023/12/31/sunday-confessionals-bring-in-the-new/

When I started blogging in 2021, it was to promote my novel. My daughter helped create it because I had no idea what to do. Prompt words help me attempt forms I didn’t appreciate I was capable of. Although as you all understand, it can be stressful.

I used to blog every day, but I don’t anymore.

A great, new experience was writing my play ‘‘The Kingswood Beast’’. I loved joining amateur directors and authors to write three dimensional plays, filmed in our local area. It doesn’t seem like it was two years ago. This year, a poem was published in Pride of Britain anthology. I am still continuing with my novels; I have two projects. One called ‘‘Orvieto’’ and ‘‘In The Dark’’.

Spending time with my husband, going on holiday, baking cakes from my Christmas present is something I am planning to do. A Children’s recipe cook book. Given to me, so I could share memories with my granddaughter. I have booked a holiday in August and going back to Dorset. I love the area, and because of moving to a more northern town, have rarely visited.

Happy New Year to all you lovely bloggers and I look forward to all the amazing poems, short stories and non-fiction pieces.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Happy new year, and greatest of joy to come forth from all your things, but especially your creative projects! I find that I always have so many writing projects going on, in various stages, that it feels refreshing to see many prompts and participate where I can, to sate the creative hunger before it adds up to the ongoing project list 😀
