1. Who is your oldest living relative (aunt, grandparent etc)?
None of them are alive,. Mum was 38 when I was born and Dad was 49. I think I was an unexpected arrival. My sister passed in 2021 and she was sixteen years older than me. My big brother, by ten. It is weird that I am nearly sixty, and will soon be able to retire.
2. How often do you visit them or is distance a factor?
I live about two hours from family. Last year we had many birthdays (50,60, and a couple of 18) I travelled to all of them. I cannot see my brother as frequently as I would prefer, but we are in contact every week.
3. Have any of your family lived to be 100?
No, My uncle was about ninety five, and still rode a bike to the shops.
4. Would you like to celebrate your 100th birthday? It depends on my health.
I am grateful to have reached a stage where some of those I love, haven’t been so fortunate. I have aches and pains, and my knees aren’t what they were. There are some lapses in memory, but I am here and feel lucky.
Thanks for joining in Diana. My Mum was 34 when I was born in 1956, the last of her children. My sister is five years older, Bro 12 years older and other brother 14 years older. Mum was 95 when she passed away in 2018. I have a paternal aunt who is going to celebrate her 100th birthday in June.
