Virals

Virals, written by Kathy Reich, is in the point of view of Tory Brennan, the step niece of Temperance Brennan (Bones). From the television program of that name. She recently finds out Kit was her dad, after her mum died. Living with him is strange, but at least he is family.

Tory and her friends live on Morris Island. Keen to be like her famous aunty, she uses her brilliant brain to solve injustice. They attend an exclusive school, where most of the students are from affluent families. Chance and Hannah belong to a group she can never quite belong to, but they are asked to work on a school project by their teachers.

When they locate some dog tags in Morris Island, they search for the owner. He is a soldier, who died in a war. This leads them to his daughter Katherine and to her bones, which they find buried in a shallow grave. They also take in a young wolf pup, who has been injected with Parvo. Their investigation pushes them into paths they never expected would happen. With Chance’s connections, he is the first person she asks to check the owner of the fingerprint.

I enjoyed this book, in first person, the pace was perfect. I have since found out there are other books in the series and would love to read the next in the series. Five out five stars for me.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
