Roses and Tulips

Ode to My Virtual Farm

Roses grow with a flourish,

Weather is always fine,

Tulips never lose their colour,

A perfect bunch every time.

Peppers always keep their splendour,

Sweet corn stand long and tall,

Thriving plants on best behaviour,

When proud visitors come to call.

Creative help from my neighbours,

Tending flowers on my farm,

Cultivating crops to keep them going,

Giving them inner calm.

Purchasing hen coops cost my nothing,

Chickens have a safe place to roost,

Neighbours help out with the feeding,

Giving them a happy boost.

Building horses a sheltered stable,

Keeping them warm and dry,

Friends send me nails if you are able,

I demand, you supply.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
