There is a light at the end of every tunnel we go through. Metaphorically as well as literally. When you struggle to get out of bed in the morning, or when you are stressed, and it seems the seconds are endless, it is difficult.
I remember a colleague saying to her students, this soon will pass, when talking about their GCSE exams. Her teaching style always gave them a reason to behave and listen. She even spoke about her classes dancing, as they did in Macbeth’s era.
Attending a zoom (writing) group, the other evening was great. The lady running it talked about finding the joy . At least once. It could be ringing a friend, doing arts and crafts, baking a cake, laughing with family, walking the dog. She said to put three hundred and sixty-five notes in a jar and select without looking.
Today, I went to my local theatre to enquire about volunteering. Being a creative person, watching a performance; brilliant. The job is manning the doors when the event starts. My grin didn’t stop. Starting slow, only a couple of days a week. When I do eventually retire, I am going to have experience doing something else.
So, a question I am asking you wonderful bloggers is – what joy would you pick?
I’d always pick something to do with reading or writing, but I’ll have to find time when I’m not busy with my own family ( the little ones)

True, I find that difficult too. When I finished work yesterday I went to see my daughter. Blogging takes time too, even though I enjoy it.

I believe in not over extending myself. I’m not young anymore so I pick activities that are both relaxing and joyful.

I’d pick reading a good book! That always brings me joy! Or talking to a good friend, or my mom!
