Seagull Strut

As Steve strutted along the railing, he raised his head, searching for a tasty morsel. The best time was at lunch. Most hungry people would surge towards the outside restaurants for a sugary treat. The trick was to lie in wait until they least expected the surprise attack.

He observed as a young woman brought a pretty pancake. Distracted by her toddler, she held it in her hand. Tapping his clever claws, he swooped into the air. He pierced the top, and the jam leaked out the edge like blood.

He flew around in circles.

Seagulls rule, humans drool.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
