Many girls with autism
all wear this mask
saying they are confident
keeping the secret of their fear.
Girls with autism mask, because we are more social humans. This is where we copy what others are doing. It doesn’t mean we don’t feel the pressure of being in a crowded room. A few will over talk, to compensate for their lack of courage. A portion will stay quiet. Either way it is something they cannot help. It isn’t being rude, it is a concern of making a mistake.
This is so true Diana. People wear masks to hide their insecurities or shortcomings. Sometimes masks are needed to save them from the judgmental society

We are all different and that is a good thing.

Lovely acrostic!
And sometimes autistic girls are so adept at masking that people think they aren’t even autistic 🙃. My autistic friends find that to be particularly frustrating.

It’s where I realised I could be on the spectrum. All be it on the lower end of it.

Thank you, it was only through a recent training at work that I realised why so many girls go undiagnosed.

I think many children do, but yes girls especially seem to be forced to hide it rather than get the help they needs and deserve don’t they.

It seems these days that autism has become an acceotable way for a person to face the challenges and rebuffs of an indifferent society. The phrase ” e pluribus unum” takes on a whole new connotation.
