Grates

It grates on my nerves

when humans drop litter

on a street where

there was none.

It isn’t great to show

that lack of respect.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. I live near Lake Tahoe. Tourists use it like it’s a trash can. It makes us sad. We carry trash bags with us wherever we go and try to take something out with us when we go. Closer to home there is a drive in a beautiful canyon that is littered with bottles and cans and fast food bags because people can’t be bothered to keep their trash once they’re done with it and just toss it out the car window. One of the worst traits in human beings, I’m afraid.
