Safe Hands

1. Have you ever attended a First Aid Course? No. I supported in a classroom where they were taught to do CPR. It is more challenging than I thought. You are meant to push hard enough to get the heart to start again. In the plastic dolls you needed to hear the chest click, and I found it hard.
2. Apart from grazed knees and applying a band aid, have you ever applied First Aid? No. My husband is briliant. When a speaker fell on my daughter’s head, blood started to flow. He performed the hiemlich manoevre whe she swallowed a two pence coin. In Asda, someone collapsed and injured their skull. It was through his quick action, the person was put on their side.
3. Are you squeamish about the sight of blood? Yes, I couldn’t handle what occurred in the shop.
4. How far away is the nearest hospital? It is a ten minute drive from where I live. We do have an eight to eight, which is closer to home.

I am grateful my husband has been around when there have been injuries.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
