Expensive

I am not great at going to my dentist because the fees are too expensive. It feels odd that hospital treatments are for free, but still have to cover the expenses of our teeth. Needles don’t scare me, and I am pleased to receive the check-ups if they were more affordable.

Using an electronic toothbrush and brushing twice a day is crucial. I am nearly sixty, and I understand that is probably not enough.

My daughter spent six hundred pounds for the root canal. She had to give multiple payments to afford it.

After cracking my tooth on a fish finger, a trip to the specialist is required. It wouldn’t be so bad, but it is at the front. When I called mine, because of missing my appointments, they said I was off the register.

They only treat you if it is an emergency.

When I obtain my salary, I can search for any practice taking on brand-new clients. It isn’t hurting, but probability of it getting infected is high. I am striving to get a healthcare professional, but I have a feeling I need a lot of patience to locate one.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Wow, this sucks! I really do hope you can get treatment soon. Here in the Netherlands, dental care isn’t covered under the basic (mandatory) health insurance package either except for specialist dental care by an oral surgeon and most additional dental coverage is so limited that it hardly makes sense to get it (according to my father-in-law, who is a dentist). I, however, get most dental work covered under long-term care.

  3. In the US finding a dentist or doctor who won’t insurance-shame you or flat out refuse to see you is getting very difficult if you don’t have top flight insurance through a Fortune 500 company. Not sure what happened to taking care of people. We’re in the ‘selling bread for the price of jewels’ era.
