Terrible

The dinosaurs have been extinct for sixty-six million years, and we can only guess at how they died. Perhaps it was a meteor, which brought a long winter, and the only survivors were birds. We don’t know for sure. Could it possible that they were intelligent life forms? Resulting in their own downfall through progress and manipulation of time? Or they became extinct because they were hesitant to adapt to the cold weather?

Humans and prehistoric creatures can not live in harmony.

Watching all the Jurrasic Park movies, it would be a terrible idea to bring them back. In the future, who knows what is in the realm of science? Think about artificial intelligence, flat screen TVs, mobile phones, electric cars, wind energy, solar energy and harnessing the waves to enable us to use fewer fossil fuels.

None of this was possible in 1970.

The unknown terrifies me, mostly because the digital world is an endless roller coaster ride. Taking a leap in the middle of a turn does not bring it to a stop. In the event that AI becomes capable of processing information, there is a possibility that we may not be her in thousands of years.

Would those who come after us assume a meteor obliterated humans?

Perhaps.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. I guess they would be better informed 😊

I came across a piece about a time traveller who says a benevolent AI would rule the world, and all that we have today will look obsolete.

Indian mythology has a mention of an era called ‘Kalki Yug’ or the technology era, which has presumably started.
