A long engagement, but at least it gave them the chance to save for the perfect wedding.

There would be tables for the children, covered in Lego, Playdough, and colouring books. She was no princess in an ivory tower, and did not need to be saved. Yet she wanted the silk gown and champagne.

A day to tell the grandchildren about.

She snuggled closer, and his arm wrapped around her shoulder.
