Big T’s that’s what they call me. How doing? My name is Titan, or sometimes I get called a dog, which I am not sure why. Not who I am. It is normally because I am barking at annoying pigeon, doggy neighbour or someone walking past my gate.

I have a crazy family. My humans. Mum, Dad, older brother reside with me. My sister and tiny person live in another house with my best friend Luna, the very fluffy canine. Since I was born, she is there.

When I was little, they told me off for chewing. Not my fault my teeth hurt. Once, I ate some tiles on the floor; so satisfying. There was carpet, yummy human food, the puppy pads and shoes. The worst was the slab of butter along with the giblets.

My stomach churned, and liquid poop emptied on to the frosty meadow.

Don’t judge me just cause I have a problem.

They brought me humungous treats, like a deer’s leg, antlers, or crunchy pig ear; it helped my addiction.

My mum, she great, she takes me on long walks with Molly (scarey Jack Russell). If I behave, we meet with all the other large dogs on the field. Mostly female and Shephards. We run around, chasing cute yellow ball. I am tired after, but it is so much fun. I am top of the doggy chain; well don’t tell the girls they might bite me.

No, please, I mean it.

It is hot, too hot for my pads. If you not able to walk in bare feet, with a fur coat on, don’t expect me to. Being in car, with window up, I boil from the inside. At home, there is a wall of heat, but cool fan helping.

I am six years old, and that is forty-two for two legged creatures. My beard is grey, my back is black, and I am part rotweiller. Although, there is German Shephard in me on my mother’s side. A mixed breed, with a happy smile.

They say it is a dog’s life, but I enjoy mine.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Oh, so lovely! Maya agrees, hot pavements on toes hurt, heavy thick fur coat drains energy, but rides in the car with all the windows down are great! If owners go into a shop, one sits with her in the boot with the door open. Plenty of water available (and admirers) too.

      1. Maya loves the water but sadly like Maggie, has a reaction to the sand here. We compensate by playing the hose game in the garden, but it would be interesting to see how sand on other beaches affect her, if at all. .
