A gift

Daffodil yellow, in a field of green.

Once a year you bloom from a bulb, and take your five minutes of fame. Mother’s day, a gift from loved ones. When people see your bell like flower, spring lifts our mood.

I remember being given a gift of verge acquired flowers, and the love natures supplies for those who cannot afford to buy them. My children grew up, but my recollections of them stay the same.

My daughter, cooking me cold beans, and unbuttered bread because she was unable to use the cooker. My son, lining up his toys, and playing with dinosaurs.

Positive experiences give us a reason to smile, and whatever happens, nature has the real power to spread happiness.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Some of our most cherished memories are not the big moments in life but the small everyday happenings with our children. The brightness of yellow flowers is a good way to describe them.
