Hope

The soil shared its warmth with the tiny snippet of life. One, two three. A stealthy shoot, spreading lush leaves, relaxed into her own vibrant skin and sighed.

Drips of rain battered the cold soil, as she whispered to the wind.

Hundreds of years later, she stood proud in the garden. Each acorn falling from her limbs, another chance to grow. A myriad of precious babies, didn’t mean many trees. She wished they would find a sunny spot, where their roots could thrive.

Human kind could be ruthless, but there were some, who hoped for a better version of love.

She watched as a little girl strolled away, planted her child, and watered the ground she settled on.

A new life was enough for her branches to spread in an honoured thank you.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
