METANOIA

A shift in opinion,

do we share views of the parents?

Youngsters soak up opinions until

Metanoia. Perhaps it is time to

listen to what they have gained

in their varied education

creating a world of

understanding

and love.

Growing up in the seventies, there were some antiquated perspectives on life. One thing that stands out for me is how women had to fight for our independence. As a student, there were lessons we couldn’t do (physics, metalwork).

Boys never learnt to sew or cook.

We wore trousers to school, as a protest, because we felt it was unfair to wear skirts when it was freezing cold.

I would like to think I helped my mum and dad with some of their outdated beliefs. Mine have taught me to understand some of my misunderstandings. It is the only way to evolve as humans.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
