‘No wonder I am cantankerous.’

‘I only asked you who was going to do the washing up.’ Robert said.

She folded her arms and pointed to the pile she already put away in the cupboard. It wasn’t like she was busy enough. The house, clean apart from this mountain of ceramic. She glowered at her husband, handing over the Fairy liquid.

‘That’s answered my question.’

She reached for a bottle of wine, a large glass, and a bar of chocolate.

A movie, and a good cry, and she would apologise later.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
