Homeless

Gripping on to Merlin, her guide dog’s harness, she stopped at Robert; homeless, and the solitary person she could trust.

‘You alright lass?’ he asked.

Sarah’s shadows halted in their own solitary conversation. ‘Lay down,’ she said, and Merlin joined his Jack Russel pal on his cosy blanket.

‘Thanks for the coat Miss, best I’ve ever ad.’

‘No worries, it’s freezing out here; I wish you would think about going to a shelter.’

‘They won’t take Molly; besides, I am snug as a bug in a rug, got me sleeping bag, a friendly bunch of stars, and brilliant company; what else do I need?’

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
