Were you born in a hospital, or somewhere else?
In hospital. The umbilical cord, wrapped around my neck, the delivery took nine hours and required careful attention by the midwife. The nurse wasn’t sure whether we would both be alive when she came in for her next shift.
How many siblings do you have?
I have two siblings. My brother is ten years older than me, and my sister is sixteen years. Mum believed it was the change, but had me instead. I turn sixty this year, and my brother is seventy. Sadly, my sister died a few years ago.
Have you ever owned a cat that had a litter?
No, but I grew up with cats. My first, Candy, belonged to my sibling. When she got married, I was four. She asked me to look after her and I didn’t let her down.
How many living generations are there in your family?
We have three generations. Me, my daughter and son, and my grandchildren. In my daughter’s partner there are four, with his grandmother the oldest at 95.
I am grateful for my family; being a grannie is a blessing, and I love the cheekiness in my granddaughter. I hope to live for many more years, and see her grow up .
It’s a good job we can’t remember being born – it must be quite a traumatic experience even in the most straightforward of natural births! 🙂

It was dangerous, but thankfully we both survived.

Lovely gratitude Diana. Thanks for joining in and sharing your world again this week. Quite a worry when you were born.

How lucky for you, the midwife knew what she was doing and you both made it

She took it slow and that helped.
