Quiet and Safe

I love being in a quiet place where all you can do is relax and hear the sounds of the sea. Sitting on a deckchair with a captivating novel. Nobody there to interrupt that narrative replaying in your head. For me, books have always been a pastime to help with the stresses of the day. I enjoy being lost in the pages of a book and being an observer.

My first proper paperback was Katie, the story of a little girl gone to live with her grandfather. What Katie Did Next, The Famous Five, St Claires, and my journey into words continued. I used to read romance books, but recently found thrillers great too.

My children weren’t fond of reading; both of them have dyslexia. One of my favourite memories, and the reason I like Harry Potter, is experiencing it with my daughter. It is a bond we share, even if I am a Ravenclaw and she is a Hufflepuff.

My granddaughter is a brilliant reader, and I hope she finds the quiet too.

Happy, healthy and safe.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
