  1. What is your favourite animated movie? I love the Minion movies, there are so many funny clips, and I love Gru, and his dream of stealing the moon.
  2.   Who is your favourite cartoon character? Donald Duck, because it is my husband’s spirit animal. My granddaughter calls him Grumpy Duck, and he often lives up to the name. Although, I love watching Bluey. It is a brilliant cartoon because it teaches children and parents its okay not to be perfect. There is a sense of realism, and I cannot wait until season four airs on Disney Plus. Will I watch it on my own? Yes, and I feel no shame.
  3.   Who is your favourite actor and actress? Paul Michael Glaser. I am a big fan of Starsky and Hutch, and his poster was on my wall as a child. He is an amazing actor, who has gone through a lot in his life. Plus, he looked cute, with his curly dark hair, and handsome eyes. Dame Maggie Smith is someone I loved watching. In Harry Potter, her McGonigal portrayal is amazing. Her cheeky grin when she said ”I always wanted to do that”, shows her brilliant sense of humour.
  4.   Do you think today’s movies give value for money? The movies are okay, and prices aren’t too bad. It is buying the snacks that is expensive. I bring my own, in a heavy large bag. I am not paying five pounds for popcorn, when I can go into town and get some for half the price.
  5. I am grateful for growing up in a time where I could go outside and play. There are happy memories before mobiles became a part of everyone’s life. I remember taking a pair of Mum’s tights, and putting tennis balls in the end, or playing kerbie (hitting a ball against the kerb with a tennis racket. We looked out for each other, and despite being out for most of the day, we felt safe.

  7. This was such an interesting read. Probably in part because I was born legally blind and partly because my parents didn’t have commercial TV channels until I was a teenager, I never watched cartoons as a kid. I can relate to playing outside though.

  8. The best they can do on the movie is break even. It’s the concessions where the theaters make their money, and I’ve been to a couple where, if they catch you sneaking them in, they’ll throw you out. And, I agree, it is a ripoff, one of the many reasons we no longer go to the movies.
