1. Do you prefer bar food, a restaurant, cafe or tea rooms?
I don’t mind where I go to eat. On holiday we went to a tea room, where they served scones, cream and jam, with a pot of tea. Above us they had a trellis where sparrows flew around, tempted by the crumbs. Devon is a beautiful place to stay because there is so much food to enjoy.
2. Do you always have the same thing, or try something different from time to time?
When I was younger, I never tried anything new. I didn’t like spicy food. I do eat Mexican and Indian, and since attempting more flavour, prefer it to bland food.
3. Have you ever had to send something back to the kitchen because it was sub standard?
We sent back a burger because it was burnt, after a half an hour wait. We were offered free pudding, but when we got the cheesecake, the jam on top was brown. It was a good job my daughter noticed because we would have eaten that too. They offered half price on our meal, but looking back, we shouldn’t have paid anything.
4. If you have a complaint, do you make it in writing after you have left, or before you settle your bill?
I don’t complain in writing, and if I have something to say, I will be honest on the day.
I am grateful for not worrying about my children, grandchildren going hungry. They are safe, well fed, and do not have to worry about war.
That’s definitely something to be grateful for. I think a lot about that. Great post!

Lovely gratitude Diana. Thanks for joining in and sharing your world. Hm, that cheesecake sounded iffy! The tea rooms where we have our Macmillan meetings do the best ever cheesecake and Hubby and I went in there for lunch one day. It was really nice, lovely fresh crisp salad with our sandwiches, and of course the cheesecake.

It was, and if it wasn’t for my daughter pointing out the colour of the jam we would have probably have eaten it. We never went there for food again. I love cheesecake. My granddaughter got a cheesecake at the tea room, and didn’t eat it all. Both my daughter and I shared the rest; can’t waste it.

I would complain about bad food there and then also. I’m sorry the meal you had was poor. Glad you said something about it. Tea rooms would be nice I’ve never gone to one!
