Teaching Assistant

In September, last year, I found the courage to go back into college education and have a go at a GCSE math course. In 2020, I attended an English course, and gained a level 7 (A) Working in a school, as a teaching assistant, I support students in their classroom and one to one interventions for Math, English, and handwriting.

I gave exam students advice, about revision, but I found it difficult for some of the information to secure in my mind. It didn’t help that I was asked to take the higher level paper because I found the foundation paper non-taxing. Watching you tube videos were easier, because I could listen to the processes, without getting overwhelmed.

I managed a grade 5, which would be the old level B. I am pleased. It means I passed and won’t have to repeat the course. At fifty-nine, it shows that age shouldn’t be a barrier to learning.

Not sure what I will take next, but a dancing class sounds fun.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
