The human condition; unlike plants and other animals in unison with each other. Why do those in power want more land? It isn’t to suit the people living there. Most desire to live their lives, protect their families, and take each day as it comes.

We watch the news, cry for those who are suffering, but that’s it. We do not act apart from kind words. In some ways, we are going backwards in our humanity. Desensitised to war, as long as our home isn’t affected.

There is also the reactive bigotry I thought was over.

It is 2025; surely we need to learn from our mistakes, not repeat them.

Unfortunately, the ones in charge don’t agree.

It is the human condition.

  2. Nice write-up Diana. For centuries, thinkers have debated whether humans are inherently good, evil, or a complex mixture of both, and the overwhelming consensus suggests a capacity for both immense compassion and terrible cruelty.
