Sleepy Legs

Steve stretched out his sleepy legs across his sheltered pond. A super orange moon shifted across the expanse of sky. Silent wishes grew. Prayers wafted into the sea of stars. Soft breaths spread through the unassuming air before spreading their wings.

It didn’t matter that he was nearly three hundred years old; learning lifted his spirits.

A swift dragonfly swooped into the water. Its tiny limbs skated over the fragile surface before it bid farewell to summer.

Steve stretched out his sleepy legs and closed his eyes.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
