Shrill Alarm

The one thing I am looking forward to, when I retire, is not having to wake up to a shrill alarm. I have four alarms because I tend to sleep through at least two of them. Is that because I am getting older, and just want to have a sleep in? Whatever the reason, I definitely deserve it. Although, when I do leave work behind, there will always be something to keep me busy.

Not the sort to sit around doing nothing.

Whether I write, walk the dog, look after my granddaughter, paint the house, tidy the garden, admire my new kitchen (when I get one next year), or annoy my husband, retirement doesn’t mean slow down, it just means I can do more stuff I like doing.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
