Mother Nature

Written for https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/what-do-you-see/

It’s lovely that nature is everywhere.

Sometimes we don’t notice its beauty, and sometimes we glimpse something we don’t expect to see. My son works near a woodland, and when I drove him to work in the early hours, we saw a family of deer just beyond the foliage.

Mother Nature’s wonder.

We watched them standing so still, watching us approach.

Stay still little one

it will always keep you safe

when humans are near

It reminded me of Bambi, and watching his mum creep into the meadow to make sure it was safe for her son. Exactly how my mum and dad would protect me, and how I would protect my left ones.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Deer are fascinating to watch. They have made a path through our backyard going and coming. The neighbor across the street puts out deer corn for them. I wish they would stay on his side of the street but they don’t.
