Lucky Life

I am thankful for spending time with my daughter, granddaughter, and son this year. We went on holiday together, to Devon. We spent the days going to different outings. We took our dogs, and they loved running around on the beach, when there was nobody else there, while we collected sea glass.

My talented girl made a brilliant picture of a seagull with some of them, and put the rest in little jars. At Halloween, she made her own pumpkin head out of cardboard, when we went out Haloweening with her little girl (dressed up as a witch).

In the morning, I would wake up, to a view of the sea. It was a brilliant place to get some writing done. Bob the seagull, and his friend, would sit on the ledge waiting for food.

Halloween, and special occasions were also spent with them.

In a few weeks, I am going to see my brother, and spend a pre-Christmas day with him and my family. We don’t get to see each other very much, and I am looking forward to coffee, cake, and lots of laughing.

I have seen some brilliant shows at my local theatre – Neil Diamond, Shaking Stevens, and Celine Dion tribute acts, along with plays, and musical theatre have been a lovely way to spend the weekend. I also belong to a writing group, and every two weeks, we meet and it is wonderful to be around like minded creators.

I have my own home, do not go hungry, and have a wonderful family.

For those reasons alone, I am lucky.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Thank you so much Diana for sharing all these lovely things that make you happy. Vacation with family, theater visits and a writer’s workshop all sound wonderful.
