Remote Rules

Do not argue over me

there’s lots of shows you can see.

Comedy for light relief

Sad films, hankies for grief

I lie on your table

click my channel if you’re able.

When my rival takes the chair

Replace my batteries when I’m down

A green light is better than a frown

So, many shows, you cannot beat

Put up your feet, and take your seat.

Stay with me, I am strong

if a warm night in you long

From films, to documentaries

you can beat the winter freeze.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. I enjoyed this. The remote stays a remote throughout, and the tone keeps things light without drifting into sentimentality. It reads like a straightforward pitch from an object that knows its function and sticks to it: “here I am, this is what I do”.

  2. Thank you. My husband prefers the computer, as they are connected to his hearing aid, and gives a better quality of hearing. I watch programs but sometimes I am not watching, lol.
