Reversible Conversations

Written for https://weeklyprompts.com/2026/01/10/weekly-prompts-weekend-challenge-reversible/

Can our viewpoints be reversible? I would like to think so. Growing up in the seventies and eighties, where outdated opinions were part of our childhood. Whether it was race, gender, or political alliances.

I would like to think, through conversations with my parents, that I could change their minds on a few things. The same with my children. I have listened, and understood their ability to think before they speak.

This also applies to working in a school.

I have learnt a lot about other religions, from working alongside colleagues, to being in religious lessons, there are more similarities than we think.

Even as adults, we have much to learn.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. I agree, we all have much to learn. I think many of our beliefs and opinions can be reversed, but I suppose it depends on the individual. Thank you, Diana, for taking part in the challenge.
