Allesandra sat opposite the doctor, her mum spoke more than she did.

She misread the warning signs, but that didn’t mean she would give up on life.

‘Has anyone else in the family had breast cancer?’ her consultant asked.

‘My mum died from this condition, we were told we were more at risk,’ her mum said.

When Allesandra got her first bra, she was told it was important to check for lumps. It was only because of being busy, she didn’t notice the small notch.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
