Not So Alone

Written for https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/what-do-you-see/

I stroll across the paving stones

Do you step with me? Allow me to make my own mistakes.?

There are days when I feel so alone

When I cannot sleep, my nights are fake.

Yet, as the breeze wafts over tired eyes

Where will my thoughts land?

I refuse to listen to their offered lies

observe your footprints in the sand

A heavenly glow casts life into my mind

Over my shoulder, your silent plea

All negative thoughts I will decline

Life is better when we believe.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
