Pain Paled

A view of a rose bush from his window

his pain paled into nature’s remedy

Strong stems protecting a fragile petal

red like the sun rising into a new day

brave and fearless, he faced the end

with a gentle reminder of his love, like

a proud flower in spring.

Rise in the dawn

Over a calming smile

Special in my heart

Enhanced with hope

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
