Musicals

Written for https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/category/word-of-the-day/

I remember watching musicals when I was young. The song and dance routines were always great fun to watch. My favourite dancer was Gene Kelly. He was the first dancer to use roller skates and dustbin lids in his dance routines.

My favourite movie is Singing in the Rain, where he played an actor in silent films, having to learn how to sing and speak in talkies. He acted with Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds.

There were no computers to entertain us. That is a good thing. I have many beautiful memories and singing along (badly). I loved dancing, so these movies always made me smile.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
