When I was at school, I read the Diary of Anne Frank. Her bravery in the face of persecution has stayed with me because I was also thirteen. The same age she was when she went into hiding.

I am told we need to flee our home

with my family I don’t feel so alone

Kindness shown to keep us free

writing in my diary to find a braver me

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
