Football Fever

I’m not a person who likes to watch football as a general rule. My husband supports Chelsea, and will watch every match. While he does this I’m generally writing or editing. Club football isn’t something am interested in.

I normally watch England play. Generally behind a pillow and screaming a lot at the TV. This afternoon I went to slimming world instead. Recently been adding on the pounds again. Lost two pounds, so I was glad I went.

Our venue is next to a pub. The doors were open and during our meeting there was one almighty cheer from next door. Nobody could concentrate on how much weight was lost, only that England scored – twice. I think sometimes we do have to be proud.

Today was one of those days.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
