wk 222 glow

I rose from my sleeping quarters, and greeted the moon with a smile. His sleepy glow washed the sky crimson. My golden hue ready to take on the day ahead.

‘Anything happen on your watch?’ I asked.

‘Quiet as usual,’ he said, and dipped into the horizon.

As a young swan drifted on to the lake, I lifted my beams. I was glad of another day to shine. I preferred the day shift. It was as quiet as the breeze during the night. The pond hummed, buzzed, and crashed into life for another glorious shift.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
