We may not have much in life, but we have each other. What I have is yours. We have a lot to learn from the animal kingdom. We go from day to day, working to get enough money to pay the bills, and for extra treats.
We play the lottery, in the one in billion chance we may win millions, and change our life forever. For me it isn’t about what I can buy for myself, but how I can help my family.
I don’t want them to worry about where there next meal is coming from, or whether they can pay the mortgage. As their mum I want to protect them from all of that. They are grown up, and I still worry. It is why I help out when I can, because my mother and mother-in-law did the same for me.
What are we aspiring to really? A home, food, safety – but there is more to it than that. If you look around any home there are televisions, computers, and many gadgets.
Animals have no need for any of this, they share their food and wonder why their habitat grows smaller around them. They have no understanding of why humans want anything more than they were given. Yet another tree felled to fuel our greed, and they have to find another home.
Money means nothing to them, but their survival does.
Diana, this is so true. If we learned from the animals and birds around us, we would indeed live a contented live. We wouldn’t overstretch ourselves for luxuries which lose their importance once we acquire them. Thanks for joining in with this inspiring story.
