Working Week

First of all I apologise. I’ve neglected my website this week due to there not being enough hours in the day to fit everything in.

On Monday I went to a day’s training and feedback for my play. We are working with a technical team to create our plays on a VR360 headset. All exciting stuff, and editing/rewriting my play is taking up my time. This is my first commissioned job, and I need it to be Oscar worthy, or the local version of an Oscar.

At the same time I started my new job and going from a whole day able to spend on my website and play, to a few hours in the evening. I need to work. As the song says. ‘I have bills, I gotta pay’, and unfortunately writing, apart from my play, isn’t earning very much. If you want to help a struggling author head over to Amazon, and type in ‘It Won’t Happen Again.’ I would love to hear what you think.

Tonight I was at my writing group. I wasn’t going to go, but I needed a few hours away from the computer. I took a look at my play before I left, and spent an hour rewording and editing the first draft. I knew if I tried when I got back home, I would be too tired. In a strange way, I came back from the group revitalised. I love talking about writing, and how to improve it. We were helping a fellow writer with her novel, and talked about a beat sheet to help write a best seller.

Today I have done no word prompts, I just haven’t had the time, but I will be back with my ‘Pirate in Training’ and poems tomorrow.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
