I don’t like to be surprised, pleasant or otherwise. I was told something yesterday, that knocked me sideways. I won’t say what it was, but I didn’t take it well. But then am an emotional sort of person, who tends to wear their heart firmly attached to their sleeve. I cry at sad moments in a film. I cry when there is a happy ending. I cry when I hear a certain song.
I like to be in control of whatever outcome there is but sometimes it isn’t up to you. Whatever is going to happen will happen whether I agree with it or not. You just have to make the best of it, and think of the positive’s it will bring for the person concerned.
As far as great surprises, I try and act surprised. You kind of have an idea it will happen, but are not quite sure. I’ve had a surprise 40th and 50th. It is scary to think I am closer to sixty than I was before.
My last great surprise was nearly two years ago. Finding out I was going to be a Grannie, and there is no better surprise than that. However with the clues my daughter gave (a banana and and an egg) I still had to have further information to understand.
There are certain surprises that are very welcome, and some that aren’t welcome at all. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Diana

My daughter got me happy grandmother’s day card to tell me I was going to be a Nana. I was overjoyed at the surprise.
