From Word Prompts – Mini Fiction, Francis the Frenchie Daily Phrase and Word of the Day

Love Bug, Shiver and picture prompt

I approached the dilapidated shed. Inside was the Love Bug. A Beetle named after the film about Herbie had definitely seen better days. It always sent a shiver down my throat when I passed it.

My dad said it had a heart of its own, and would search out the lost and lonely. Every time I ran past the shed I thought I heard a beep of a car horn. Today was no different. Except this time, I decided to face my fears, and open the shed door.

Whatever the legend, I needed a car. I recently passed my driving test, and thought it would save me money. I could clean up the old thing and give us both a new lease of life.

As I lifted the windscreen wiper, its horn beeped out of nowhere . . .

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
