Word Prompts – Halloween – trio

Today’s prompt Soft, black fur

Gripping on to his new cloak, he almost flies out of the shop. I’m glad he’s coming to my Halloween party. I already have an idea of who he can talk to. The invisible man struggles to make friends – Together they would make quite the pair on the dancefloor.

Out of the shop, I bump into the Rory. A werewolf by night, and human by day. Not that you can blame him for that. Most of the time he is such a nice wolf. He has soft, black fur, which gets styled every other week.

‘Hiya Wendy,’ he howls from across the street.

My arms are filled with bags, and he offers to help me carry them home. I’m glad of the help. There is so much to do at home. I’ve got to put all the cobwebs in the corners, my pumpkin won’t carve itself and I’ve been chatting for far too long. I ogle my feet, which are now the size of saucers.

‘Thanks Rory, are you sure.’

‘Yea, full moon is nearly shot, and I was going home anyway. Unfortunately when I turn full human, that means I’ve got to work at the estate agents in the morning. I like walking in the moonlight one last time.’

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
