I’m blogging later and later these days. It is partly to do with starting a new job, but also to do with being busy outside of work too. Tonight I was at my writing group. I have been a member of my writing group for three years. They are a tough bunch of critics, but that is what I need. They can see things that I would never have thought of and help me improve my story.
In the same way I can give advice on their writing. I love being part of this group because we understand each other. It is more than a hobby to them, and I think the same way.
When I put words on the page, it creates the characters your reader will eventually empathise with. My latest project is about a visually impaired woman who investigates her husband’s death. Writing the whole narrative without having sight is difficult. Research is important, if I am to do my character justice.
I have a full-time job, a business, and family duties. I love blogging, but I also find that my time to do it is either shifting later in the day or sometimes just disappearing. We have to cut ourselves some slack or it could become onerous.
