My Take on #WQWWC

Never in my wildest imagination did I think I was going to be part of something so cutting edge, but next week my play is going to be filmed for VR360. I am so excited. It is my first commissioned play, and will be professionally edited to be seen on a headset. On the first round of filming they were brilliant, but since we got funding the special effects will help them go the extra mile.

I am one of five amateur writers, and directors. They are all amazing people, who have taken on board the professionalism needed for a scheme such as this. Six months ago it was just narrative on a page, now there is so much potential.

In a about a month my play, along with five others will be shown on VR360 at my local theatre and in the town where I live. The audience aren’t sitting in a typical venue, and it can even be viewed in supermarkets.

If someone had told me a few years ago, that I would be part of this, I would have laughed. It would just have been in the world of dreams. Now I can say I am a commissioned writer.

Who knew this could happen? I certainly didn’t, but I’m glad it did.
