Radioactive
Forgotten fire fighter suits cling together.
Discarded, desperate to be heard.
Their brittle bonds submit an eerie Morse code.
Years have passed, silent screams
no longer considered.
Thirty-four years, and counting. Still
radioactive.
Their charred cloth bitter against the deep mound.
Lives lost to a force of nature with
unlimited power.
A beast,
unleashed by man. Still
radioactive.
That’s a beast once unleashed, cannot be tamed at all. Beautifully written
