It was the spring of 2010 when I realised I never had to clean again. One simple incantation was all it would take to create a broom for all occasions. All I had to do was tell it what to do, and all my housework would be done (apart from the ironing that is)

It didn’t ask for extra wages, but the only thing I needed to do was make sure it was polished every day. From its straw brush, to the pine handle, I kept it in pristine condition.

Everyone admired my beautiful home, and wondered how I found the time to clean in the first place. I don’t lie, but say I have a wonderful cleaner. If I told them it was magic they wouldn’t believe me and the spell would stop.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
