This is written for the Halloween special – Write a Halloween sonnet.

Power of Three

Witches three meet in secret on the heath

meeting a man who doesn’t always know

his own mind to suspend his first belief.

A hero in mind; a hero too slow.

To remain loyal or to jump ahead.

whether it is right to veer from his path.

One prophecy, and power it is said

can break brittle bones of battle worn scars.

For Macbeth never a difficult choice.

His humility never is intact

History is losing a precious voice.

In one moment, prophecy a rare fact

It is Macbeth who wears the heavy burden

Nothing in his life ever be certain.
