Word of the Day

Are you one of those people who get queasy at sight of blood, or could you watch an open heart surgery?

I am okay with my blood, but other people’s I’m not so sure of. It’s not that I’m queasy, just I don’t know what to do. I watch Greys Anatomy, does that count in watching open heart surgery

Who or what do you feel is lurking right behind you, just waiting to ambush you and make your life a living hell?

I don’t think anyone is trying to ambush me.

What is the gaudiest thing you have ever worn?

When I was a young girl I liked ballroom dancing. I wouldn’t see it as gaudy. My sister-in-law made it for me, and it was a pretty shade of blue. I won a silver medal in ballroom. I was eight, and loved that dress.

Fess up! What was something you did as a child that got you into BIG trouble?

Me and a group of friends (I was more a follower than a leader) and we heard there was a farmer who would shoot you if you went on his land. Kids being kids we decided to see if that was true (It was) I never ran so fast in all my life. It was a precarious situation and looking back I realise how lucky I was.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Thanks for Sharing Your World! I bet you learnt a valuable lesson from that whole ‘insane farmer with a gun’ episode though. Grey’s Anatomy counts! Sure! Your ball gown sounds lovely, not gaudy at all. Have a wonderful week!
