FOWC

In the eighties, when I was a teenager, alcohol was something to make you be like a grown up. When I brought up my children I made sure that they were allowed a small amount, watered down by lemonade. As a result neither of them really like the stuff.

I think it is more because it took away the glamour of it.

It is all different now, and you have to show your ID to be able to buy drinks. It wasn’t unheard of in my day to be drinking from the age of 16. My brother had a local at the age of 14. They were different times, and I’m glad to say we know more about the dangers now.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
